Hello! I'm Jill Hunt, the Visual Art Teacher at Dillard Drive ES! Here's a little bit about me...
I was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. I attended Nazareth College in Rochester as a Visual Arts major with a concentration in Illustration, and the State University College at Buffalo for Art Education. After graduation, I made the move to Raleigh, NC to pursue my goals.
Though my affection for my hometown remains strong, I have spent the last half of my life residing in the Triangle of North Carolina. Here, I built a career and a family with my husband, with whom I have a beautiful daughter. I have worked as an Art Educator in NC for 20 years, in both Wake and Johnston County Public Schools, as well as with the Durham Arts Council, Artspace, the NCMA and various community workshops and camps.
I am also a professional artist. I exhibit my art throughout the state, and have earned numerous awards for my paintings. I have also been active in supporting art in my community, serving as a board member on the Town of Clayton’s Public Art Advisory Board and as an Officer for Clayton Visual Arts.
I'm excited to share my love of art with the students at Dillard Drive Magnet ES!
